Azul Snorkeling

Snorkeling at Marietas Islands
Our most popular excursion! The trip begins with a fast paced boat ride out to the Marietas, where, before you even get into the water you are bound to see schools of dolphins, migrating whale pods, large manta rays and tortugas (sea turtles). Then, explore the spectacular marine life of the Bay of Banderas. The Marietas Islands are designated bird sanctuaries where yellow and blue footed boobys can be spotted. After swimming among colorful fish in warm tropical waters, you can swim under a natural stone bridge into the center of one of the islands where a private beach awaits you. This fantastically undisturbed spot is only reachable by swimming, making it a very special experience.
Bonus Whale Watching
While on your way out to the beautiful Marietas Islands you can witness the beauty, harmony and grace of the Humpback whales who inhabit the Bay of Banderas from mid December to the end of March. Humpback whales migrate south from their arctic feeding grounds to breed and rear their young in the warm, protected waters of the bay. Our snorkeling boats take you out into the bay on your way to the Islands where there is a strong chance you will get to see these massive creatures close up as they breach the surface. If there are whales to be seen, the guides are more than happy to stop or detour the boat. To witness the worlds largest mammals from such a close proximity is truely a breathtaking moment to remember.
