Surf the world-class waves of the Nayarit Mexico region! With many years of local knowledge, we have a pretty good idea where to find the best surf conditions. If you are a seasoned surfer, you will enjoy the early morning mexico surf trips where our guides map out the best surf and bring you to it by van or boat. Daily surf tours depart every morning at 7:00 a.m. and return between noon and 2:00 p.m. The waves are excellent for both short and longboarding. The average wave size is shoulder to head-high range, occasionally bigger, occasionally smaller, depending on what Mother Nature blesses us with. The water temperature ranges from 72 to 84 degrees depending on the prevailing currents. We have access to a wide variety of surf spots, mostly point breaks, both lefts and rights, from inside the Bay of Bandares to Sayulita and north to San Blas.

Snorkeling & Whale Watching
Our most popular excursion! The trip begins with a fast paced boat ride out to the Marietas, where, before you even get into the water you are bound to see schools of dolphins, migrating whale pods, large manta rays and tortugas (sea turtles). Then, explore the spectacular marine life of the Bay of Banderas. The Marietas Islands are designated bird sanctuaries where yellow and blue footed boobys can be spotted. After swimming among colorful fish in warm tropical waters, you can swim under a natural stone bridge into the center of one of the islands where a private beach awaits you. This fantastically undisturbed spot is only reachable by swimming, making it a very special experience.

Explore the wild coastline in sea kayaks in search of secluded coves and white sand beaches. Banderas Bay is the largest and deepest natural bay in Mexico. It's a horseshoe-shaped bay with gentle, emerald waters. Measuring 20 miles across with over 40 miles of coastline and calm waters, Banderas Bay is a natural choice for some of the most beautiful kayaking in Mexico. Marine life is abundant out here, and some of the species we might encounter include multicolored tropical fish of all sizes, sea turtles, manta rays and even possibly Humpback whales.
Our experienced guides will provide you with thorough instruction, offering beginner to expert trips, some of which combine paddling with snorkeling. Our experienced guides will provide you with thorough instruction, however we recommend this trip for rowers at an intermediate level in good physical condition.

Is a little town south of Puerto Vallarta where you can only get by boat. We take you by cab to la Cruz the Huanacaxtle, 40 minutes from here, where you take the boat for about 1 hr-1.5. Once you get there you start a 2 hour hike through the jungle to waterfalls where you can swim and spend a little while. We ask you to bring money to get lunch and drinks at a restaurant just next to the waterfalls. You return by 3 or 4 pm.

Hike the ancient trails of the Huichol Indians at the Archelolgical site of Alta Vista or "La Pila del Rey" (The king's fountain). Located along the Las Piletas Creek, on the rim of the El Copo volcano, Alta Vista is considered the most complex site of its type in the state of Nayarit. Dating back 2000 years, ninety engraved rocks cover this sacred area and in pre-Hispanic times. To this day, local Mestizos as well as Huichol Indians still worship in this area. Don't miss this unforgettable experience of history and local culture.

Testimonials:
"A Costa Azul Experience..."
“Our family had one of the best family vacations we have ever had at Costa Azul! There was something for everyone: Dad has always wanted to learn to surf. Seeing him take some waves in brought smiles to all of our faces. Mom LOVED galloping down the beach every night at sunset. I actually cried saying goodbye to my horse when we left and I still dream about the sound of the hoofs in the sand. My son wants to be the next Crocodile Hunter; so the river cruise was his highlight, surfing was a close second. My daughter loves horses, so being led on her own horse on the jungle ride made her so happy! She still talks about it 6 months later!
The term FAMILY Adventure Package really says it all about why it was such a great vacation. Having adventures TOGETHER and doing things we don't get to do often makes for great quality, family time and memories. Don't worry, there is also time to relax and enjoy the peace & tranquility of the beautiful, secluded beach. Meal times were spent sharing what our favorite part of the day was and our nightly ritual was to lay on the beach after dinner and stay until each of us saw a shooting star!!! It doesn't get much better than that!
We are excited to return sometime in the future!”
